AUBURN____Helen T. (Prostak) Lucyniak, 86, of Auburn died Monday November 12, 2007 in WOODBRIAR of Wilmington.
She leaves a son, Dennis J. Lucyniak and his wife, Carol of Reading and two grandsons, Gregory J. Lucyniak and Nicholas W. Lucyniak. Helen was preceded into her Heavenly Home by her devoted husband of 61 years, Walter J. Lucyniak and her beloved granddaughter, Catherine H. Lucyniak. She was also predeceased by two sisters and three brothers, Ann Miller, Isabel Petracca, Stanley Prostak, Walter Prostak and Edward Prostak. Helen was born in Worcester, a daughter of Catherine Sowa and Onufry Prostak and had lived in Auburn for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Lucyniak graduated from Millbury Street School and David Hale Fanning Girls Trade High School. She spent several years working as a Milliner. Helen was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester and was a longtime member of the Polish American Veterans of WW II Auxiliary and served several terms as Senior Vice President.
Helen was dedicated to her family, who were her joy and fulfillment, and to her friends. She enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music of all kinds and bowling.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday November 20 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday November 20 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Members of the Polish American Veterans Auxiliary will meet at 10:00 a.m. during the calling hour to conduct their ritual.
