BRIDGEWATER - Dorothy A. Damiano, 76, of Bridgewater, formerly of Easton and Leesburg, Fla., died Sept. 29, 2007, after a brief illness at Longmeadow of Taunton.
Born in Medford, a daughter of the late Rodman H. and Ann L. (Eade) Lynch, she was raised in Boston. She was a graduate of Hyde Park High School.
She worked for many years in the insurance industry, as well as a data entry clerk at the Foxboro Co. in Foxboro.
Dorothy lived in Easton for 25 years before moving to Florida upon her retirement. She loved to knit and crochet.
While in Florida, she crocheted hundreds of blankets and would donate them to people in the hospital.
She was the wife of the late Vito Damiano; loving mother of Susan Hellige and her husband Adam of Bridgewater; devoted Nana to Zachary and Savannah Leigh; loving and sister of Virginia Galvin of Quincy, Rosemary Vozzella of Hingham and the late Gladys Farrell, Catherine Clark, John and James Lynch.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 8, in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Center Street, Bridgewater, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations in Dorothy's name may be made to the Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA, or to the Activities Fund at Longmeadow of Taunton, 68 Dean St., Taunton, MA 02780.
