James L. Hepworth, 73, of Whitefield, NH and Derry, NH, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Mr. Hepworth was born in Derry on December 30, 1933, a son of the late Harold L. and Helen M. (Joy) Hepworth. He was employed as a lineman for PSNH for many years. Mr. Hepworth was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the American Legion and the VFW both in Derry and Whitefield. He was also a member of St. Marks Masonic Lodge in Derry and was a Shriner. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Whitefield.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Hall) Hepworth of Derry; three daughters, Christine Reed and her husband Charles of Londonderry, NH, Patricia Kimplen of Derry, Carol J. Hepworth of Fremont, NH; two sons, James R. Hepworth and his wife Carolyn of Manchester, NH, John L. Hepworth and his wife Michele of Florida; seven grandchildren; three brothers, William Hepworth of Florida, John A. Hepworth of Illinois, Frederick Hepworth of Westfield, MA; two sisters, Jacqueline Pressey of Westfield, Martha Smith of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his friend Rita.
Calling hours were held on Monday, November 19th from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 9:30am in the funeral home. The burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. A separate memorial service will be held on Monday, November 26th at 11:00am in the Community Baptist Church in Whitefield with a light luncheon to follow.
