Agnes S. (Schmidt) Ford, 95, of New Bedford died Wednesday November 14, 2007 peacefully at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility after a long illness. She was the wife of the late John P. Ford, Sr.
Born in Hoboken, NJ, the daughter of the late Otto and Margaret (Meehan) Schmidt, she lived in Bergenfield, NJ for many years before moving to the New Bedford area in 1998.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Dartmouth.
Mrs. Ford was formerly employed as an office worker at General Sportscraft in Bergenfield until her retirement.
She was a life member of the Rosary Society of St. John the Evangelist Church in Bergenfield and a life member of Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include a son, John P. Ford and his wife Patricia, of New Bedford; two grandchildren, John P. Ford III, and his wife Tracey of Liverpool, NY, and Timothy M. Ford, and his wife Victoria, of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Joseph F. Ford.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
