Thomas Franklin Mathis, age 86, died on November 15, 2007 at the Grenada Living Center in Grenada, MS. He was born on April 25, 1921 to Atlas and Ada Edwards Mathis in Water Valley, MS.
Frank Mathis was a veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1943 until 1945. He was a former Heavy Equipment Operator, a Mason, and was a member of the V.F.W.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation. Ministers will be Bro. Charles Homan and Bro. Nathan Doyle Swanson. The Soloist will be Caryn Swanson, and Reflections will be given by Michelle Trusty.
Frank Mathis is survived by his daughter, Patsey Mathis of Cleveland, MS; three sisters, Inez Maynor, Odell Maynor, and Jewel Swanson; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Martha Jane Mathis, and May Mathis; two sisters, Merle Smith and Mable Anthony; and five brothers, Rayford, John Laborn, Dulin, Aubrey, and Carmon Mathis.
