New Bedford-Jose Garcia DeMedeiros ages 74 years died Wednesday November 14, 2007 after a long illness. He was the husband of Maria de Lurdes (Botelho) DeMedeiros of New Bedford. They just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on November 9th. He was the father of Ana, Luis, Olga, Joe, and Paul Medeiros. He was the brother of Sarafim DeMedeiros, Maria Jose Viveiros, Conceicao Meireles, Irene Camara, and the late Manuel Garcia, and Angelo DeMedeiros. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and friends.
Mr. DeMedeiros was the son of the late Manuel Garcia and Maria (Mateaus) Medeiros. He was born in Mosteiros, Sao Miguel Acores and has lived in this area for the past 35 years. He was a machine operator at Duro Textile Printers in Fall River until his retirement.
Mr. DeMedeiros Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home Saturday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be Friday from 5-9 P.M.
