METHUEN – William H. Daly, Jr., 61, a father of five and resident of Methuen died peacefully at his home Tuesday morning November 13, 2007.
Mr. Daly was the longtime owner and operator of Daly’s Pub on Merrimack Street in Methuen. Earlier in his career he worked in the insurance industry. He will be remembered by patrons of Daly’s for his generosity and great storytelling ability. He spent much of his free-time on the golf course and enjoyed his summers at the beach in Seabrook, NH, as well as his yearly trips to Saratoga Springs, NY.
Mr. Daly grew up in Lawrence, as the only son of the late Honorable William H. Daly, Sr., Special Justice of the Essex County District Court, and Florence (Bower) Daly of Lawrence. He attended boarding school at the Canterbury School in New Milford, CT, where he excelled at baseball and football. He went on to attend and graduate from Harvard University.
He leaves behind friend, companion, and wife, Vicki J. (Gardner) Daly. He is survived by his children, Kendall S. Daly of Danvers, MA, Erin B. Daly of Alameda, CA, Jennifer M. Daly of Manhattan, NY, R. Blaire Daly of Boston,MA and Conor W. Daly also of Manhattan, NY.
He also leaves many cousins through the Merrimack Valley.
ARRANGMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack Street B LDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01844. Family and friends may call on Friday November 16, 2007 from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday a 12:00p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, MA.
