Obituary

Karen M. Ring-Connelly, formerly of Woburn, MA died on November 10th, 2007 after a long illness. Karen was the daughter of the late Albert F. Ring of Woburn, MA. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis I. Ring of Plymouth, MA and her sons Edward, Sean, and Daniel Connelly. Karen was the mother of the late Laura Anne Connelly. Karen is also survived by her sister, Pamela Ring-Dorman of Olympia, WA and her brothers, Albert F. Ring Jr. of Christmas, FL and Dennis Ring of Plymouth, MA. Karen was the sister of the late Maryellen Ring of Woburn, MA.

Karen was born on July 26th 1953, in Woburn. She graduated from Woburn Public High School in 1973. She then went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate from Salem State College. Karen loved to cook and she was quite an accomplished caterer in addition to her teaching credentials. Karen enjoyed shopping, yard sales, a “good bargain” and clipping coupons. She also enjoyed traveling and being with her family.

Karen valiantly fought Multiple Sclerosis and the debilitating effects of this disease. She spent the last several years in the Boston Home, a world renowned convalescence home for individuals stricken with this devastating disease. Karen was an individual who would never capitulate to the insidious effects of the disease and her fighting spirit was inspirational to all who knew her. Karen never complained about her disease and she fought tenaciously against the disease until her death this past week.

Karen is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Boston Home, 2049 Dorchester Avenue, Boston, MA, 02124. There will not be any visiting hours and all services will be private.
