Salem: Edward Stanley age 84 of Salem, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Ida L. (Nadeau) Stanley.
Born and raised in Danvers, he was the son of the late George Frederick and Yvonne (Charest) Stanley and stepson of the late Joseph Fraser. He was head mechanic for the former Nangle Chevrolet which later became Davy Chevrolet, from which he retired in 1988. Eddie moved to Salem in 1951 when he married Ida. He was a quiet, hard working man who was devoted to his family and who always maintained a good sense of humor with his family and friends.
Eddie is survived by a daughter, Edith I. Nadeau Stanley of Salem, 4 brothers: Walter & Lester Stanley both of Lynn, Frederick Stanley and his wife Rae also of Lynn, Robert Fraser of Saugus, 3 sisters: Pauline Doten and her husband Edward of Grafton, NH, Dorothy Fraser of Peabody, Rosalie Delorey and her husband Richard of Peabody. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters: Hazel Spinelli and Irene Cotraro.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 8 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Salem at 9 am. Visiting hours: Wednesday 3 to 7 pm. Burial will be in Ste. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
