Catherine "Kay" (Martell) Perreault, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Saturday November 10, 2007 at Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston after a lengthy illness. She was 87 years old.
Kay was born in Lewiston, Maine. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1938. Kay worked for many years at The Kennedy Center and Life Focus Center both in Charlestown. She is past President of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association and member of St. Catherine's/St. Mary's Bowling League. She is a former girl scout leader and Title One reading program aide.
Kay is the beloved wife of Lucien "Lou" Perreault. She is the devoted mother of Catherine Grant of Medford, Frank Perreault of Charlestown and Therese Perreault of Arizona. She is the loving grandmother of JonPaul, Andrew, Francesca, Richard, Christopher and her great-grandaughter Olivia Grant. She is the beloved sister of the late John "Lou" Martell, Walter Martell and Mary "Ida" Ducey.
Kay's Funeral will be held on Wednesday November 14, 2007 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Catherine's Church, 49 Vine St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Kay will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
