John F. McGrane, Sr. 71 A resident of Methuen, Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, November 10th, 2007.
He was born in the Bronx, New York on May 8th, 1936 to William and Florence (Egan) McGrane. He was a graduate of the Bronx High School in New York. He served in the United States Navy as a Signal Man during the Korean War. He worked for the State of Massachusetts for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs as Chief Planner of Programs for over 20 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church in North Andover, MA. According to his family, he loved family, his children and especially his grand children, and that his other passions were fishing, gardening, reading, The Red Sox and the Patriots.
He leaves his loving wife Arlene M. (Ohanesian) McGrane and his children; John F. Jr. and his wife Bonnie L. McGrane of Bradford, MA. and Christine T. and her husband Michael J. Fritz of Methuen, MA. also two grand children: Meaghan and Anthony McGane. His two brothers; James and his wife Phyllis McGrane of Texas, William McGrane of Florida and one sister; Florence and her husband Stephen Guyer of Long Island, New York. As well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 14th, 2007 at 10:00AM in St. Michael Church in North Andover, MA. A burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington, MA.
