Mr. A. L.”Jack” Reeves, 85, of the Salem Community of Ben Hill County, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Dudley Cook and Rev. Danny Lovett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9, Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Reeves was born October 7, 1922 in Ben Hill County, to the late Alvord L. and Tina White Reeves. He was a retired farmer and former school bus driver. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard. He raised Quarter Horses and was an avid coon hunter. Mr. Reeves was a member of Salem Baptist Church, the NRA, and the United Kennel Club.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife: Earline McReady Reeves of Ben Hill County; one daughter and son-in-law: Angelia and Lee Mays of Rochelle; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Edward A. Reeves of Ben Hill County and Jamie and Julia Williamson of Oglethorpe; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Velma Cain of Irwinville and Virginia Smith of Columbus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
