Angelo Sarto, a retired machinist and fisherman, died peacefully at Wingate Nursing Home in Lowell. He was 90.
Angelo was born and raised in Boston’s West End the son of the late George and Annie Sarto. In his early years he worked as a fisherman out of Boston. A Medford resident for 50 years, and former member of the Italian Workers Club, Angelo worked as a machinist. Upon his retirement he lived in Pinellas Park, Florida for 20 years. He later lived in Dracut and Billerica with his children.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (DiTommaso). He was a devoted father to George Sarto and his wife Judy of Dennis, Anne Garber and her husband Richard of Dracut, Patrick Sarto, Maureen Suddoth and her husband Richard all of Billerica. He was a loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a dear brother to Josephine Paquin, Joseph Sarto and Ann Citro.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
