Boston - Louis A. Fontaine, 82, of Westport, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Agnes (Nitkewicz) Fontaine.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur W. and Blanche A. (Hebert) Fontaine, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to retirement in 1995, he was a tool maker for Fall River Tool & Die Co., Inc. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Fontaine was a member of the Our Lady of Grace Senior Citizens. He also loved his wood carvings.
Including his wife, he is survived by a son: Robert L. Fontaine and his wife Janet of Westport; 2 brothers: Paul Fontaine of Westport and Oscar Fontaine of Westport; 2 sisters: Irene Fontaine of Swansea and Blanche Dugal of Fall River; 2 grandchildren: Kevin James and Chad James; a great grandson: Connor James; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Notre Dame Church, Fall River at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
