Mattie McDuffie Faircloth, 84, of Cocoa, Florida, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Huntington Place Nursing Home in Cocoa, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Kenny Wayne Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilcox County.
Mrs. Faircloth was born September 27, 1923 in Pulaski County, Georgia to the late George and Bessie Smith McDuffie. She and her husband moved to Miami, Fl shortly after they were married and later to Cocoa, FL. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Chrysler Automotive Components. Mrs. Faircloth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Faircloth is survived by a son and daughter-in-law. Loyd Robert, Jr., and Eda Faircloth of Valdosta; daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert Barnwell of Fitzgerald, Cheryll Faircloth Stafford and Kathryn Schryer, both of Cocoa, FL; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dellis McDuffie of Macon, George McDuffie and Franklin McDuffie, both of Fitzgerald; sisters, Nellie Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Annie Ruth Giddens, Margaret McCall and Mary W. Melton, all of Fitzgerald as well as many nieces and nephews. Se was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Robert Faircloth and a brother, Donald McDuffie.
