Obituary

SALEM - Mark M. Mansfield, 41, husband of Christina M. (Castaldo) Mansfield of Peabody, formerly of Salem, died Wednesday morning, November 7, 2007 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston following injuries received in an accident on Tuesday.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of John H. Mansfield of Harrison, ME, and Jane (MacLean) Talbot of Bridgton, ME. He was a graduate of Salem High School in the class of 1985 and was a resident of Salem until moving to Peabody in 1992.

Mr. Mansfield had been employed at the Dominion Salem Harbor Power Station for 20 years and was a member of the I.B.E.W., Local 326 in Salem.

Mark had a zest for life and lived life to the fullest. He had a love for cooking and his artistic creations were frequently enjoyed by his family and friends. He will be missed for his skills in the kitchen. The ultimate sports fan, he faithfully followed NASCAR, the Patriots and Red Sox. His love of rock music extended to two of his dogs being named Sabbath and Ozzie. He was a member of the P.L.A.V, Post 55, Salem and the Union Club in Beverly.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 14 years of marriage, and his parents, he is survived by three daughters, Danielle Doucette, a senior of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Michelle Doucette, a junior at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Jenelle Mansfield an 8th grade student at Higgins Middle School, 1 brother, Matthew and his wife Jackie Mansfield of Effingham, NH, his step-mother, Margaret Mansfield of Harrison, ME, his step-father, Rev. Carlton H. Talbot, II, of Bridgton, ME, is father-in-law & mother-in-law, John & Karen Castaldo of Salem, 2 uncles, 1 aunt, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

His funeral service will be held Monday, November 12, 2007 at 10 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting hours are Sunday, 2 to 6 pm.
