Ricky Lee Funes, 52, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at 104 Terrapin Road in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Funes was born on August 23, 1955 in Gary, Indiana and was the son of Geronimo and Pearl Shear Funes, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Leon "Pete" Funes. He worked for many years at Sadisco and was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God. He had been a resident of Fitzgerald for 8 years.
Mr. Funes is survived by one son, Ricky Lee Funes, II of Fitzgerald; one step-daughter, Trina Hedquist of Fitzgerald; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Arlie Werno of Fitzgerald; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Funes of Indiana; and two grandchildren.
