Hubert Bartow Watson, Sr., 81, of Tifton died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Donnie Sloan will officiate with burial to follow in Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenox. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Watson was born on September 21, 1926 in Worth County and was the son of Bartow Watson and Pauline Thompkins Watson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laverne E. Yarbrough Watson, who died on February 7, 2007; one daughter, Betty Lynn Watson; and three brothers. He was a retired auto mechanic and served in the United States Army. He was of the Holiness faith.
Mr. Watson is survived by seven sons, Billy Watson of Tifton, Donnie Watson of Albany, Buster Watson of Albany, Gary Watson of Albany, Wayne Watson of Albany, Jimmy Watson of Albany and Sammy Watson of Albany; four daughters, Linda Sue Chitwood of Sumner, Clara Lee Taylor of Chula, Candace Godbolt of Waycross and Tammy Watson of Albany; two brothers, Curtis Watson of Tifton and Gordon Watson of Moultrie; three sisters, Osceline Brooks of Norman Park, Emma Jane Miley of Norman Park and Louise Hamm of Norman Park; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
