Mrs. Mary A. Cappannelli, age 86, of Stoneham formerly of Medford died November 6th following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert G. Cappannelli. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Assunta (Marino) and Joseph Seminatore.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and was also very active for many years with various clubs and organizations. She was a member of both the Medford and Melrose Emblem Clubs where she enjoyed volunteering her time for their many different charitable fund raising events and causes. She also served on the Board of Trustees for the Park Terrace Condominium Association where she was a resident for several years. She was a former member of the South Medford Mothers Club and more recently was an active member of the Stoneham Council on Aging and the Stoneham Senior Center.
In addition to her late husband, Mary is predeceased by her son Albert G. Cappannelli Jr. and two sisters, Florence Pagliarulo and Josephine Kroger. She is survived by her children, Arlene Santorelli of Ogunquit, ME, Alberta Puccia of Medford and Sestilio Cappannelli of Stoneham. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren and seven loving great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division Of Development - Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
