Frank B. Glidden, 87, of 11 Kentfield Ct died January 4, 2003 in the Lakes Region General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Gilmanton on January 7, 1915, the son of Mooney and Florence (Tibbetts) Glidden. He has resided in Laconia since 1926.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as an assistant foreman by the former Scott & Williams Co. for more than 28 years. In addition he later worked for Carpenter & Patterson for ten years.
Mr. Glidden was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #428 and was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks.While employed at Scott & Williams, he held membership in both the Industrial Management Club and the Quarter Century Club.
He enjoyed attending local sporting events and watching national events on television. When time allowed, he was an avid woodworker.
His wife, Agnes (Boudreau) Glidden died in 1985.
Family members include his son, Atty. Kenneth P. Glidden of Laconia; a brother-in-law, Edward Boudreau and his wife, Yvette of Laconia; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St. on Wednesday at 10 AM. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski, Pastor was the celebrant. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
