David W. Matheson, 52, of Acushnet died November 3, 2007 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Kathleen M. (Pendergast) Matheson.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Cleveland Matheson, Jr. and Balbina (Lemos) Matheson, he lived in Fairhaven most of his life before moving to Acushnet this year.
Mr. Matheson was employed as a contractor with his son Craig.
He was a member of the Sippican Gun and Rod club and enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoors. Mr. Matheson was an avid New England Patriots fan. His greatest joy was spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Craig Matheson of Acushnet; a daughter, Angie Tavares, and her husband Nuno, of Fairhaven; 2 brothers, Cleveland Matheson, III, and his wife Patty and Malcolm Matheson, and his wife Lori, all of Fairhaven; 3 grandchildren, Maya, Nadia and Lyla; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 7th at 1 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Visiting hours Tuesday, November 6th from 4-8 PM.
