Obituary

Samuel Fuller, 80, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 5, 2007, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Fuller was born January 16, 1927 in Abba, Georgia to Vera Stone Fuller Deshazo and the late Samuel Fuller. He moved back to the community in 1984 from Wichita, Kansas and was a former resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mr. Fuller served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War era. He was a payroll auditor for Traveler’s Insurance Company and the Citi Group. Mr. Fuller was a deacon and former trustee of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church here in Ben Hill County, where he taught Sunday school class.

Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jobyna Fuller of Fitzgerald; mother, Vera Stone Fuller Deshazo of Fitzgerald as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Fuller.
