TEWKSBURY: Philip R. Goldsworthy, age 72, a resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the husband of Constance “Connie” (Turlo) Goldsworthy, with whom he celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on August 9th.
Born in Stoneham on February 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Alexander and Bernice E. (Flint) Goldsworthy.
Mr. Goldsworthy was raised in Wilmington, attended Wilmington schools and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1954.
In 1957, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Prior to his honorable discharge from active duty on July 23, 1959, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the SS Carbine Badge and the SS M-1 Badge.
Mr. Goldsworthy resided in Wakefield until moving to Tewksbury in 1966.
Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was employed in the automotive sales industry for over 40 years. During his career, he worked at several area automobile dealerships including the Honda Barn in Stratham, NH and Atamian Motors of Tewksbury.
According to his family he enjoyed fresh and saltwater fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, photography and was a member of the Lowell Camera Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gretchen M. Goldsworthy, Kirk F., Craig P. and Dean R. Goldsworthy; one brother, Donald Goldsworthy.
Calling hours Monday, November 5th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Tuesday, November 6th, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
