DRACUT - John S. Doulames, 66, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Thursday November 1st at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Cecilia A. (Thomas) Doulames, with whom he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with in May.
He was born in Lowell on October 6, 1941, and was a son of the late John Doulames and the late Viola (Lapierre) Willey. He received his education in Lowell schools.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Doulames was employed for over thirty five years by Courier Printing, formerly Murray Printing in Westford. Earlier in life he was employed by the former Vee's Restaurant in Lowell.
In his free time he enjoyed cooking, dining out, and traveling with his wife to Florida.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law John "Jack" and Shayna Doulames of Atkinson, NH, James Doulames of Dracut; a daughter and son-in-law Jodie and Scott Williamson of Dracut; three grandchildren Dane and Olivia Doulames of Atkinson, NH, and Hannah Williamson of Dracut; close friends Linda and Roy Jezak of Dracut; two brothers-in-law Ed "Butch" Thomas of Methuen, and Michael Thomas and his wife Debbie of Dracut; a sister-in-law Carole Marks of Georgia, two half sisters; a half brother; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Monday from 4 until 8PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:45AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9AM at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Interment in Oakland Cemetery in Dracut. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Lowell General Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
