WORCESTER- Nancy Z. (Ayala) Rennie, 70, of Worcester, died Wednesday, October 31st, in UMass-Memorial Hospital. She leaves a son, James M. Rennie of Worcester; 5 daughters, Joyce Ayala of Chaumont, NY, Terry Egbert of Springfield, Sheryl Shields of Lake Oswego, OR, Debbie Hoover of Idaho Falls, ID, and Cindy Wong of Worcester; 2 brothers, Hector Ayala of New York, NY, and Efrain Ayala of West Palm Beach, FL; 3 sisters, Elba Ayala and Esther Riviera of West Palm Beach, FL, and Carmen Hollwedel of Clearwater, FL; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.
She was born in San Juan, PR, the daughter of Joseph and Aurelia (Figueroa) Ayala and graduated from the New York Institute for the Blind in New York City. Ms. Rennie had been a social worker and volunteer for Valley Adult Counseling Center in Milford, retiring in 1982 and later volunteered at the Christopher House. She was a former member of North Uxbridge Baptist Church.
A calling hour is from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 4th, in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 2:30 P.M. Burial in Hope Cemetery will be private.
