New Bedford – Joseph C. Souza, aged 95 years, died Thursday, November 1, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hosp. He was the husband of the late Rose C. (Cardoza)Souza and the father of David Souza of Acushnet. Mr. Souza also leaves behind 2 grandchildren.
Mr. Souza was a son of the late Augustinho and Franchisca (Santo) deSouza of Portugal. He was born in Fall River and lived both here and Acushnet for many years. Mr. Souza was a shipper for the Juisties Baking Co.. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Souza will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2007. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA.
