Obituary

WORCESTER-Louise K. (Howard) Corbett, 85 of Worcester and York Beach, ME died Wednesday, January 1st in the University of Massachusetts Healthcare-Memorial Campus. Her husband Timothy J. Corbett died in 1979. She leaves 2 sons Timothy J. Corbett, Jr. and William H. Corbett, a daughter Paula L. Lapomardo all of Worcester, 2 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 5 great step-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. A sister Eleanor Nicholson of Auburn died in 1984.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Thomas C. and Helen (Henderson) Howard. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Corbett had worked for 23 years at Clark University as business manager of the economic geography department, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Corbett was a member of Christ the King Parish and a former member of it’s Woman’s Guild, a former member of St. Peter’s Church, served as past president of it’s Woman’s Sodality. She was an adult advisor for Camp Fire Girls during the 1950’s, was active in local political campaigns, and was a member of the Mothers Guild at Notre Dame Academy. Mrs. Corbett was also a licensed real estate agent working with several local companies. She was an avid reader.

The funeral will be Monday, January 6th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 12 Noon in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, January 6th from 8:30 until 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
