Obituary

John M. Walsh of Cheyenne, Wyoming formerly of Brockton, October 23, 2007, 68 years. John was born, raised and educated in Brockton; and was the son of the late Harold and Christine (Ganley) Walsh. While growing up in Brockton John had a great love for horses and being outdoors, he could be found at the J. C. Keefe property also know as the “Cow Barn” in the Campello section of Brockton. Following graduation from High School, John entered the Air Force and traveled extensively throughout the country. After his discharge from the service He married and started his family in Louisiana raising 4 children.

He will be remembered as a quiet man, who made friends wherever he was; a “Jack of all Trades”, with several careers, such as sales in Alaska, working on cattle ranches in Wyoming and Colorado, district manager for the Telephone Company and most recently as a Hotel Manager in Cheyenne. As well as his love for horses he enjoyed spending time in a good casino.

John is survived by his children, BJ and his wife Robin, Christine LeBlanc and her husband Jason, John and his wife Shayna, and Jennifer and her fiance’ Dusty Bourdreaux all of LA; he is the brother of Andrew Ward of AZ, Ann Marie Sheehan of E. Bridgewater and Christine Burrell of Scituate; his former wife Linda (Hoffpauir) Walsh and 9 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late William Ward of Whitman, Mary Mack of Scituate and Edward Walsh of Nebraska.

A funeral service will be in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton Saturday at 10 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 PM.
