Simmons of Brockton January 1, 2003. Frank E. Simmons, 70 years. Husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Allen) Simmons. Father of Frank E. Simmons, Jr. and his wife Julia of Hanson; Russell R. Simmons and his wife Mary of Bridgewater and Patricia Stinson of Brockton. Son in law of Mary Allen of Brockton. Grandfather of Bryan, Matthew, Arron, Lindsay, Kristan and Shannon.

Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm. Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Local Chapter, Voice of the Faithful.

Obituary

Mr. Simmons died Wednesday afternoon at his home after a five month month battle with cancer. He was born in Whitman, a son of the late Raymond and Della (Surdam) Simmons. Attended Brockton Schools and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 60 years. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army and received several medals. Mr. Simmons had been employed by Shaws for over 40 years, retiring 5 years ago from the South Side Shaws Deli Dept. Mr. Simmons had been a volunteer for many years at the Catholic Charities for Bingo. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Margaret “Peggy” (Allen) Simmons, 2 sons Frank E. Simmons, Jr. of Hanson and Russell R. Simmons of Bridgewater and a daughter Patricia “Patty” Stinson, 2 sisters Myrtle Lincoln of West Bridgewater and Barbara Allen of East Mansfield, 2 brothers Carl Simmons of West Bridgewater and Robert Simmons of Marlboro, 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his mother in law Mary Allen of Brockton
