DRACUT - Mary J. (Podobinski) Molda, 90, a resident of Dracut, and formerly a resident of Lowell, died peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2007 with her daughter at her side following a brief struggle with pneumonia and complications. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Johnnie" Molda until his passing on December 16, 1990.
She was born in Lowell on June 7, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Caroline Podobinski. She was educated in Lowell schools.
Mrs. Molda was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Chelmsford.
In her free time she enjoyed knitting, crochetting, reading and playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Carol A. Molda with whom she lived with in Dracut; many nephews, nieces and cousins including her cousin Louise S. Regan of Dracut. She was known as "Mom" by many of her friends.
Mrs. Molda was also the sister of the late Stanley and the late Walter Podobinski.
Friends may call on Thursday at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lowell.
