Edwin A. Watson, 68

Dateline: Norton, MA

Edwin A. Watson, 68, of Norton formerly of Taunton died on Tuesday October 30, 2007 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA he was the beloved husband of 42 years to Loretta M. (Sears) Watson.
Born in Taunton, MA on August 22, 1939 he was a dear son of the late Frederick H. and Esther A. (Thompson) Watson, Sr.
Ed grew up in Taunton, was educated in Taunton schools and was a 1958 graduate of Taunton High School. He served from 1958 to 1962 in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and upon being honorably discharged received his Associates Degree in Business Management at Newbury College.
Mr. Watson was employed as a Meat Cutter for the former Fernandes Supermarkets and later when it became Super Place, he held this position for 40 years before retirement. He later worked for several years at both New Pond Village in Walpole and at Service Master in Norton.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Attleboro and the Norton VFW post in Norton. Ed was an avid New England sports fan, enjoyed the wonderful times spent with his devoted family and loved to engage in political conversations. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Mr. Watson had made his home in Norton for over 35 years and was formerly of Taunton.
In addition to his beloved wife of 42 years he is survived by his devoted children; Kimberly A. Grimmel and her husband Mark of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Gregory E. Watson and his wife Yolanda of Los Angeles, California, Brian F. Watson and his wife Toni of Attleboro and Christine M. Montague and her husband Eric of Amesbury, he was the dear brother of Annabelle Fernandes of Norton and the late Frederick H. Watson, Jr., also surviving are his cherished 8 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday November 3rd at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be held privately at a later date in the Norton Center Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 2nd from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers Ed’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund 1000 Oakhill Ave. Attleboro, MA 02703.
