Little Compton, RI - Frances L. (Rogers) Goulart, 79, of Little Compton passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Rev Mr. Joseph A. Goulart, Sr.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Michael F. and Ethel (Wilbur) Rogers, she was a lifelong resident of Little Compton. She was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Little Compton and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She also accompanied her husband to deaconate classes in Warwick.. Mrs. Goulart worked at the family restaurant, the Fo’c’sle at Sakonnet Point and also volunteered her time driving school bus and ambulance in Little Compton. An avid animal lover, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, mowing the lawn, camping and golfing but most of all, enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son: Joseph A. Goulart, Jr. of Cotuit, MA; 6 daughters: Ann E. Breen of E. Freetown, Margaret M. Tarvis of Westport, Marie F. Gagnon of Little Compton, Dorothy T. Goulart of Randolph, MA, Joan G. Turner of Pace, FL and Catherine G. Allder of Little Compton; a brother: Richard F. Rogers of Little Compton; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 3, 2007 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
