New Bedford - Emilia K. “Amy” (Wisz) Caron, 80, of Dartmouth, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of John B. Caron.
Born in Taunton, daughter of the late Konstanty M. and Anna M. (Kaleta) Wisz, she had lived in Dartmouth since 1961. Prior to retirement she was an office manager for a medical practice in New Bedford. A Communicant of St. George Church, Westport, where she served as a lector and as past president of the Ladies Women’s Guild. Mrs. Caron received the Marian Medal Award in 1973, she was honored as Woman of the Year by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and also received the Top Hat Award from the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Fall River District. She was a member of the Children of Mary Sodality of Holy Rosary Church in Taunton. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Including her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: John P. Caron of Freetown and Michael J. Caron of Dartmouth; a daughter: Christine E. Ferreira of Somerset; a brother: Benjamin Wisz of Northport, FL; a sister: Evelyn Harrop of Cumberland, RI; 2 grandchildren: Jessica Caron and Justin Caron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late William Wisz, Walter Wisz, Jenney Stanizk and Stella Galipeau.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, November 2, 2007 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Thursday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M.
Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.
