MOULTONBORO,NH - Paul E. Ganong, age 64, a retired truck driver, died Saturday morning, October 27, at the Tewksbury, MA, home of his daughter and son-in-law, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband for 40 years of the late Helen E. (Moskaluk) Ganong, who passed away in 2003.
Mr. Ganong was born in Boston on May 5, 1943, a son of the late Paul G. and Mary (Kelly) Ganong. He was raised in Somerville, MA, married and raised his family in Melrose, MA, before retiring to Moultonboro, NH.
He retired as a truck driver, and later was involved in several business enterprises with his brother.
He is survived by three children, Paul S. Ganong and his wife Denise of Litchfield, NH, Cheryl A. Tarpey and her husband James of Tewksbury, and Christine M. DiPirro and her husband Stephen of Hooksett, NH; a sister, Ann Marie Leary of Woburn; a brother and sister-in-law, John Ganong and his wife Brenda of Laconia, NH; and ten grandchildren, Charlotte Ganong, Andrew, Nick, and Dan Adams, Billy, Jimmy, and Derek Tarpey, Dan, Joey, and John DiPirro.
He was also brother-in-law of the late Jack Leary.
A Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, in Peabody, MA. Memorials to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Suite 220, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701 are encouraged.
