Louis L. Gilardi passed away at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford on October 25, 2007. He was 79 years old.
Born in Boston, Louis grew up in Boston and Woburn and had been a longtime resident of Malden. He worked as a postal worker for over 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a former member of the Italian American Citizens Club of Malden and the South End Club in Woburn. He loved golfing and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Louis was the beloved husband of Flora (Longo) Gilardi for 57 years. He was the loving father of Gary Gilardi and his wife Linda of Hanover and Michael Gilardi and his wife Karen of Westford. He was the dear brother of Alba Cincotta, Peter Gilardi, Delores Cincotta and the late Robert Gilardi, Tarquinio Gilardi and Gina Gilardi. Louis was the brother-in-law of Jennie Pini, John and Phil Longo, Mary Russo and Peter Longo. He was the cherished grandfather of Brandi Rubin and her husband Gary, Kristina Flanagan and her husband T.J., Jill Gilardi, Michael Gilardi Jr. and Leanne Gilardi. He was the great-grandfather of Alexia and Zachary Rubin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday October 29th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Sunday, October 28th from 4-8 p.m. Interment Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
