MYSTIC- Nancy Lincoln Buell , age 83, of Mason’s Island died Sunday morning at her daughter’s home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Buell was born on November 28, 1919 in West Hartford, and graduated from the Oxford School in 1936. She married Fisher Ames Buell, III on September 13, 1941, and the family moved to Mystic from Centerville, MD in 1961. In Mystic, Mrs. Buell established Hickory Ledge Gallery, a rare book and manuscript business, and was later joined by her husband in that business. She was a long time member of the Mason'’ Island Yacht Club, and was one of the first women to become a member of the American Appraisers Association.
Mrs. Buell is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Buell Sheffield of Mystic, a son, Richard L. Buell of New London, a brother, Gilbert Lincoln od Old Black Point, four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Fisher Ames Buell, III a son, Fisher Ames Buell, IV, in 1955, a daughter Emily L. Buell in 1961, and two brothers David Lincoln of Old Black Point and Richard C. Lincoln of Wellesley Mass.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial will follow in St. Mark’s Memorial Garden. There are no calling hours.
