GLOUCESTER: Ronald A. “Ron” Roesel, 65, of 5 Summit Street died Thursday, October 25, 2007 in the Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston following a brief illness. He was the husband of Jill A. (Souza) Roesel.
Born in New York on June 8, 1942, he was the son of the late Fred and Irene R. Roesel. He had served in the U.S. Navy for six years. He had resided in Gloucester for the past thirty years.
He was employed by NutraMax Products for the past six years. Ron enjoyed spending time watching his son, Jeffrey, play soccer for the Gloucester High School and videotaping the games for the team’s review.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Jeffrey F. Roesel, Ronald A. Roesel, Jr., Michael Roesel, Bryan Roesel, Joseph Roesel, a daughter, Dawn Roesel, many grandchildren, his parents-in-law, Thelma and Ed Parks, and Sharon Souza, two sisters-in-law, Tracey, wife of Mark Schlichte, and Jodi, wife of Chris Osborne, and three nieces, Billie-Jo Tyne-Fintel, Erica Tyne and Amanda-T Schlichte. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law, Babe Souza and his brother-in-law and best friend, Capt. Billy Tyne.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 3rd in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 9 – 11 a.m., followed by an informal memorial service at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Please omit flowers.
