Ana R. DaCosta, 94 of Medford, died Tuesday after a long illness in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Portugal she has lived in Medford since 1992 and was the daughter of the late Ana (deAraujo) and Jose F. Costa.
Ana was a Stitcher for 5 years at the former Fenton Shoe Company in Cambridge and retired in 1980.
Beloved wife of the late Manuel J. Afonso. Devoted mother of Maria Carvalho of Florida, Armandina Morais of Somerville, Victor Afonso of Brazil, Olinda DeSousa of Canada, Manuel Afonso, Ana Cerqueira both of Medford, and the late Jose Afonso. Also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 14 loving great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., Cambridge, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
