Joseph V. Costa, 73, of New Bedford died October 24, 2007 at home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Joan H. (Harwood-Rayner) Costa.
Born in Dartmouth, the son of the late Joseph V. and Alice (Pimental) Costa, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Costa was formerly employed as a manager for A.F.C. Cable and former co-owner of Alliance Cable in Taunton until his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; 4 daughters, Carol Costa and her husband Jeff, Jo-Ann Costa and her husband Randy Mendoza, Sharon Cabral and her husband Richard and Kathleen Marotte and her husband Dennis, all of New Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Costa of New Bedford; 3 brothers, John Costa and Gil Costa, both of New Bedford and Gene Costa of Fairhaven; a sister Lillian Silva of New Bedford; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Wayne Costa and George Costa.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 27th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, October 26th from 4-8 PM.
