Dorothy M. Schena, 80

Dorothy M. (Duffy) Schena, 80, of Mansfield died on Tuesday October 23, 2007 at the Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Amelio A. Schena to whom she was wed to on April 7, 1947 and who passed away on July 18, 2001.
Born in Boston, MA on August 30, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary (Noonan) Duffy.
She grew up in the Mission Hill Section of Boston and was educated in Mission Hill schools. Mrs. Schena was a retired Supervisor having worked for the New England Telephone Co. in Boston for over 20 years prior to retirement. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Dorothy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. She was actively involved with the Mansfield Senior Citizens where she especially enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.
She loved to sew and work on her computer. When younger she and her late husband were avid travelers but the most important part of her life was her family. She had made her home in Mansfield for over 30 years and was formerly of the Jamaica Plain section of Boston.
She is survived by her devoted sons; Charles A. Schena and his wife Marion on Plymouth and David G. Schena and his wife Carol of Acton, she was the sister of Helen Regan of Weymouth and the late Mary Fontaine and Irene Flavin, also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Michael Schena and his wife Megan, Stephanie Schena, Tyler Schena and Samantha Schena as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday October 27th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 26th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
