Obituary

WORCESTER____Leon Sobolewski, 88, of Shannon Street, died Saturday October 20 in Radius Health Care, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Jean Marie (Palmieri) Sobolewski, a son, Paul Sobolewski and his wife Bernadette of Rehoboth; five step children, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Jennie Sobolewsky of Worcester and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita (DePasquale) Sobolewski and by a brother, John Sobolewsky. He was born in Hartford, Ct, a son of Joseph and Sophie (Bulai) Sobolewsky.

Mr. Sobolewski was a jeweler many years for American Supply Co. He retired in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as a Tech Sgt. He was a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc. He enjoyed woodworking, repairing watches and clocks and working in his garden.

The funeral will be held on Thursday October 25 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 12 NOON in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday October 25 from 10 to 11:45 a.m. in the funeral home.
