Ruby McMillan Dorminey, 89, of Enigma died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in Tifton. Bishop Gary Flanders will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Pallberers will be Ken Parker, Jim Brogdon, Herman Storey, Kelly Bruce, Kasey Bruce and Cecil McMillan. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Holyoak, Steve Brogdon, Buddy Storey, Joe Collins, Jason Dorminey, Jared Heiner, Ken Holyoak and Doran Storey. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 22, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Dorminey was born on March 10, 1918 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Jacob Boyd McMillan and Elizabeth "Betty" Robinson McMillan, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilford T. Dorminey; one daughter, Cecelia Dorminey Bruce; one sister, Dorothy McMillan Parker; and two brothers, Cecil W. McMillan and Clayton McMillan. A housewife and a farmer's wife, she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and was a lifelong resident of Berrien County.
Mrs. Dorminey is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Claude and Joan Dorminey of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Kenny Parker of Alma; seven grandchildren, Dr. Jason Dorminey of Elk Grove, California, Cynthia Dorminey of Marble Falls, Texas, Jan Dorminey Heiner of Meridian, Idaho, Ken Parker of Waycross, Terri Parker Collins of Saint Simons Island, Kasey Bruce of Glennville, and Kelly Bruce of Vidalia; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel McMillan Storey of Waycross and Vera McMillan Brogdon of Gainesville, Florida.
