Mrs. Kathleen Ann McCarthy, 51 of Somerville died on Friday in New England Medical Center in Boston following a brief illness. She is the wife of Stephen McCarthy with whom she shared more than 28 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge, daughter of Marjorie (Dowd) of Everett and the late John Mitchell, she is a graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1974.
Mrs. McCarthy was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. In earlier years she enjoyed playing bingo. She was well known for her cooking talents and enjoyed taking long drives in her spare time.
In addition to her husband and mother she leaves a daughter, Shannon Christine McCarthy and a son Stephen McCarthy Jr. both of Somerville, a sister Maureen Connors and her husband Paul of North Andover, a brother John Mitchell and his wife Betty of Everett. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street MEDFORD, Tuesday at 9 am. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville at 10 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
