Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Stella A. (Wojtkiewicz) Hyde, age 91, a resident of Tewksbury for over 47 years, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Lexington.
She was the wife of Charles B. Hyde, who died in 1960.
Born in Lowell on January 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Victoria (Ul) Wojtkiewicz.
Mrs. Hyde attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and Lowell High School.
She was a lifelong communicant of the Holy Trinity Polish Church of Lowell.
Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was employed as a supervisor and stitcher at the former Lowell Dress Company and worked in the garment industry for obver36 years.
She was a former member of the Catholic Women’s League, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union,and was a member and second vice president of the Lowell Central Labor Union.
During World War II, she worked hand stitching parachutes for the Atlantic Parachute Company.
She is survived by her brother, John V. Woktkiewicz and his wife Maureen of Tewksbury; three sisters, Jeny Jane Peterson of South Yarmouth, Priscilla Shaw and her husband Gordon of Arlington, TX and Alice E. Avila of West Yarmouth; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hyde was the sister of the late Helen V. Berthiaume.
Calling hours Monday, October 22nd, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Tuesday, October 23rd, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Church, 350 High St., Lowell. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Asera Care Hospice, 40 Washington St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 are requested.
