Barbara (Woods) Murphy, 87, of Franklin, died, Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of George F. Murphy Sr. who died in 1968.
Born in Paxton on May 3, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Clifton G. and Ethel J. (Livingston) Woods.
Mrs. Murphy was a longtime resident of Franklin. She graduated from Walpole High School and attended business school.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Murphy was the assistant treasurer at Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank where she had worked for 20 years.
She is survived by her son, George F. Murphy, M.D. and his wife, Sharon of Dover and two granddaughters, Erin and Emily.
She is also survived by a brother, Donald Woods of Duxbury.
Graveside services will take place privately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin.
