SALEM - Olive M. (Burey) Maguire, 96, wife of the late George W. Maguire, formerly of Peabody & Danvers, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Ledgewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Beverly, following a long illness.
Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Augusta (Green) Burey. A resident of Danvers for over 50 years, she also resided in Wenham before moving to Beverly in 2000.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at A.C. Lawrence in Peabody and at GTE Sylvania. Following the loss of her husband, she worked for M & M Printing in Danvers.
Mrs. Maguire was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Salem where she was active in the church fairs for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to sew and do crafts.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth M. & Glenn M. Herrick of Old Town, ME, 2 grandchildren, Timothy Herrick of Beverly, Susan & her husband Jaret Lizzotte of Old Town, ME, 1 great grandchild, Jackson Lizzotte of Old Town, ME, 1 sister, Barbara A. Brown of Hathorne, 2 nephews, R. Sam Brown of Peabody, Edward R. Brown of Kingston and one niece, Augusta C. Lynch of Sandwich. She was the sister of the late Muriel C. Burey.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, October 22, 2007, from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, where a visitation will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM at the Edgerly Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
