Eleanor M. (Ciampa) Cartullo 93 years a resident of Avon for 70 years died October 18, 2007 in the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of 60 years to the late Alphonse “Willie” Cartullo. Ellie was born in Brockton and was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Ida (Chiavelli) Ciampa. She was a 1931 graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Cartullo worked for more than 30 years in the Avon Sole Company as a Trimmer.
She enjoyed gardening, watching TV, keeping current on the world’s events and as a younger woman bowling and dancing. Ellie will be remembered as a wonderful cook, someone who loved her home and took great pride in its care; as a lady with a great sense of humor, a loving caring nature who enjoyed meeting people and counted many of all ages as friend. Her positive approach to life will be missed by many.
In addition to her late husband, Eleanor was the sister to the late Elva, Lillian and Julian Ciampa. She leaves her niece Susan Ciampa of Sagamore Beach, and her sister-in-law Rosalie Cartullo of Holbrook, as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday in St. Michael’s Church, 87 North Main Street, Avon at 10AM. Burial in Melrose Cemetery Brockton. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton.
