Obituary

Minnie (Shefshick) Blotner, a lifelong resident of Chelsea, MA, entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2007 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. She was 95 years old.

Born in Chelsea, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Gittel (Rigoff) Shefshick, Mrs. Blotner was raised and educated in Chelsea. Together with her late husband Harry and brothers Israel and Aleck, Mrs. Blotner was a proprietor of Shefshick’s Kosher Meat Market of Chelsea. She was a member of Congregation Agudas Sholom of Chelsea. Mrs. Blotner will be remembered for her many acts of kindness to others and her gentle and kind demeanor.

She is survived by her children, Mark and Carol Blotner of Glen, NH and Bernie and Heidi Blotner of San Diego, CA, grandchildren, Gail Campbell and her husband Robert, Nikki Blotner, and Adam Blotner, and great grandchildren, Madison and Brady Campbell. She was the beloved grandmother of the late Michael Blotner and the dear sister of the late Anna Leader, Aleck Shefshick, and Israel Shefshick.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave. (Cary Sq) CHELSEA. Rabbi Nochum Cywiak of Cong. Agudas Sholom and Cong. Ahavas Achim Anshe Sfard will officiate. Burial will follow in the Chelsea Chevra Kadisha Cemetery, 232 Fuller St. Everett. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Barbara Leader Newman, Lexington following the burial on Sunday and through Tuesday evening from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M.
