Obituary Information
Mrs. Seelye died Friday morning at the Braemoor Rehabilitation Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Mary E. (Hannan) McKenney. She attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1941. She had been employed by New England Telephone as a Toll Supervisor, before staying home to raise her children. She later returned to work at Jordan Marsh Company in Brockton. She had been a member of the Brockton Catholic Women’s Club, and while a resident of Brockton she was a long time communicant of St. Margaret Church. While living in Bridgewater she was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Mrs. Seelye was a homemaker who was devoted to her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leo P. Seelye, 1 son Paul E. Seelye of Amherst, NH, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Jean M. Doulette and sister of the late Henry A. McKenney, Jr.
