In Taunton, October 14, 2007 Mary E. (Gauthier) Laurent died after suffering a recent stroke, age 85. Mary was born in Taunton and lived here her entire life. She was educated in schools in Taunton. She worked at Taunton State Hospital as an attendant and a waitress at Benjamins Restaurant, the Gondola and the Taunton Dog Track for over 40 years. Mary was the wife of the late Albert G. Laurent. Mary leaves three beloved daughters Nancy Benjamin & her husband Theodore of Taunton, Anne Goldrick and her husband James of Taunton, Jane Harpin and her husband Kevin of Taunton. Grandmother of Cheryl Benjamin-Dias & her husband Paul of Taunton, Katie (Goldrick) Ballantine & her husband Matthew of Taunton, Kelly Goldrick of Boston, Jake Harpin of Boston & Michelle Harpin of Oakland, CA. Her great Grandson Alexander Benjamin Dias. In addition to her family Mary leaves a countless number of close friends who were dear to her. Mary lived a full life and truly enjoyed every minute of it. Displaying a great personality to those who were fortunate enough to know her will treasure the memories. Mary’s primary interest were spending time with her friends and family. Her pastimes included playing bingo, cards & slots as well as sewing & crocheting. Mary was a member of the Oakland Seniors and the Women’s Guild at the former Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Thursday, Oct. 18th at 9am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Weds from 5-8pm. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
